12. How long does it take to register or transfer a domain name?
It only takes a few minutes to register a domain, but a site may not be instantly available at its registered name worldwide. However, in some areas it may be available after only a few hours. This is because Internet DNS databases retrieve new listings from one another but only update about once a day, causing a delay. The delay is typical of domain registrations and cannot be controlled by United Hosting .NET or any registrar. We handle domain transfers automatically. It takes up to 48 -72 hours for a transfer to occur.
