4. How do I know when it's time to renew?
Our system will automatically send an invoice to your default email address. If you are paying with a check or money order, you will have one week to get your payment to us, otherwise your account will be suspended. If your payment is 2 months past due, your account will be deleted and require setup fee again.

5. Where are your servers located?
We are currently co-located at an Internet Data Center in San Fransisco. While we believe that this does not detract from our ability to provide you with outstanding service, we like to make sure our customers know before signing up that we are not trying to hide anything. While many web hosts will not admit that they are co-located with another provider, over 90% of them are. We are one of that 90%, and are not afraid to let you know!

6. So United Hosting .NET doesn't run its own servers? What happens if there is a problem?
We have a very talented support team stationed in our servers' high-tech Network Operations Center. The servers and your account are monitored 24x7x365. If anything at all happens to one of the servers our team at the headquarters is paged, as well as our Network Operations team. Communication is rapid to ensure minimal downtime. Our system administrators can also administrate and monitor the servers a great deal online.

Yes. Each account comes with a certain number of databases. They can be setup and maintained through Cpanel.

12. I have an intensive CGI script I would like to run. What happens if it uses too much of the server? Will you shut me down?
We will never spontaneously shut you down. We are fairly liberal when it comes to server usage as long as no one abuses it. If we find a script you are running is draining more than your fair share of the server's resources we will give you a warning and ask that you discontinue its use, or trim it down. If you are looking to run expansive scripts we suggest a dedicated server.

13. Can I host a Warez or Adult site?
No. We are a family-friendly host. Nothing illegal, illicit, or of an adult-nature is allowed. You can't even link to these kinds of places.

17. Can I register an international domain with you?
Yes. We support all international domains. However, we ask that you handle the international domain transfer process yourself, since international registrars (besides networksolutions.com) often have varying terms and conditions that you are probably more familiar with. If you have any trouble, however, we can always attempt to assist you.

19. Do you have a price-freeze guarantee?
We do have a price freeze guarantee. The price you signed up for will be the price you pay for the entire length of time you are signed up with us, as long as you continually renew your contract.

20. Do you guarantee a certain level of uptime? What would you estimate your avg. uptime to be?
At this time we do not have a guarantee on our level of uptime. But starting in January of 2002 we will have a 99% uptime guarantee. This is not to say that we are expecting any downtime soon, but we are still testing our servers an adding equipment to make sure we can backup such a claim. Looking at our entire track record, from back when we started in 2000, we would estimate to have had around 97-99 percent uptime. However, the past two months, we are proud to announce that we have had 99.97% server uptime.

21. Can e-mail be sent to sub-domains? Like email@subdomain.mydomain.com?

22. Can I have more than one domain under one account? How do I go about doing this?
Yes. You can have multiple domains under one account. This is done by ordering Domain Pointers, which point additional domains to sub-directories in your account (or the main directory). Each account comes with a number of free domain pointers - Platinum and Enterprise have 4 and 10, while the Generation Business comes with 1.

23. Can these additional, "pointed domains" receive e-mail and have their own IP?
No, these are http pointers and simply redirect users to a sub-directory within your main domain - the one with the IP and e-mail. Therefore any mail sent to pointed domains is forwarded to a catchall e-mail account at the main domain. Pointed domains do not have their own IP.

24. How much does additional space and bandwidth cost if I go over the limit?
Additional space costs $5.00/month for an additional 150 MB. Additional bandwidth costs $5.00/month per additional 1.000 MB.
