5. Outlook 2002/XP Setup
To configure Microsoft Outlook 2002/XP to receive email, follow these steps:
» Open Outlook XP, click on Tools and then choose Email Accounts. The following box will appear:
» Select Add a new e-mail account and then click on Next. The following box appears:
» Select POP3 or IMAP and then click on Next. The following box appears:
» Under "User Information" enter your full name and your email account as shown above. Under "Login Information" enter your hosting account username as shown above if you want to check the messages for the "default email account", or enter the full email address of an email account you created in your control panel (See Email Options.) In the "Password" field enter the password. Under "Server Information" in the "Incoming mail server (POP3) or IMAP (if applicable)" field enter yourdomain.com as shown above. For example, if your domain is abc.com enter abc.com (do not enter www.yourdomain.com or mail.yourdomain.com) In the "Outgoing mail server (SMTP)" field enter your local ISP SMTP server. For example, mail.yourISP.com or yourdomain.com, for example, if your domain is abc.com enter abc.com as shown above (do not enter www.yourdomain.com or mail.yourdomain.com.) Please note that some ISPs do not allow the usage of 3rd party SMTP servers. If this is the case, you will have to use your own ISP's SMTP server. Contact your ISP for more information.
» Click Next. The following box appears:
» Click Finish. Your Outlook XP email configuration is now complete.
